Website Marketing Services

Website Marketing is different from traditional marketing.  Marketing your website on the Internet requires an understanding of how people use the Internet, what they’re looking for, and how they’re looking.  Once you understand these three aspects of marketing, there are many different technologies that can be used to improve your chances of being found.  When you hire me to help you market your business online, I’m going to help you utilize the technology in the appropriate way to improve the number of people visiting your site, and the number of those people who become your clients.

The way we do this is by incorporating marketing strategies into the web design itself.  From our very first meeting, we’re discussing not just the design of your site, but who your target market is, what their primary motivation is and how you can best reach them.  This includes considering things like age, race, gender, buying habits and geographical area.  Through an ongoing dialogue, we can begin to market your website by integrating key elements about your future clients into the website design.

Having a website is different from having a successful website. Here are a few things we’ll do together when you hire me to do website marketing to improve your chances of running a success business online.

  1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)- This is a key component to helping the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN and Ask find your website and index properly.  SEO ensures that all the search engines know what each of your pages are about, and when done properly, ensures that these search engines will send visitors to your site that are searching for what you offer.
  2. Keyword Selection - This goes along with SEO.  Having the proper keywords helps you identify the type of people you want to draw to your site.  Having the wrong keywords means that visitors come to your site and quickly hit the back button when they see that you don’t really offer what they’re looking for.
  3. Content Creation - Having the proper keywords is imporant, but using them in the right places is important to.  That’s why it’s important to understand things like keyword density when creating a site.  But don’t worry; if you don’t understand it, I do.  And that may be a good reason to hire me.  Also, you need high quality content that gives your visitors what they’re looking for.
  4. XML Sitemaps - If your site doesn’t have a Google Compliant XML Sitemap, you need one.  A sitemap is a way of communicating with the major search engines and letting them know when you have new content on your site.
  5. Tracking - Being able to track how people are finding your website, and monitoring the pages they view, the amount of time they spend on your site, and other information, can be vital to understanding where your site needs work and where it’s doing its job
  6. Pay-per-click campaigns (PPC)- Pay-per-click is exactly what it says it is.  You pay a certain amount for each person that clicks on an ad. This is usually the last type of web marketing I do with a client.  When we do this, we’re paying for advertising, whereas the other options I discussed are all relatively free.  When we run a pay-per-click campaign, we track how your ads are doing, and monitor the conversion rate so that we know we’re making more money off the ads than we’re spending.  Try getting your local paper or magazine to do that for you…
